This is our story.
1953: Ranft Optiek
For over 50 years, there has been a special place in the heart of Rotterdam where people can go for eye care and fashion. The history of this place begins in 1953, after the reconstruction of the city center of Rotterdam, with Ranft Optiek.
This store was one of the first to open its doors again in this renovated city center. The Rotterdam community embraced this new optician, who quickly became known for his professional service and quality.
1995: Van der Linden & De Vos Optiek
In 1995, the couple Rinus and Johanna van der Linden-de Vos took over the shop and changed the name to Van der linden & de Vos Optiek. This was the beginning of a new period in the history of the shop.
Rinus and Johanna had a clear vision for their new company: to offer a personal and professional service, and to work with the best and most innovative brands on the market.
2017: Verhuizing naar de Halstraat 3A
In 2017, Van der Linden & de Vos Optiek moved to Halstraat 3A, around the corner from the old location on the Meent.
In this new, modern and spacious store, customers can enjoy an extensive collection of glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and accessories, put together with love and care
2022: Een nieuwe generatie
In 2022, Margot van der Linden and Joep Eggink took over Margot’s father’s family business and continue the tradition with passion and dedication.
In addition to being specialists in the field of contact lenses, Joep is also an optometrist. Together, they are proud of the collection of brands they carry and carefully put them together themselves. The lenses are ground to size in their own studio.
